Reframing Opera Through Movement

MANX, or Movement Arts Nature Exchange, is a sustainability forward arts organization empowering artists through dance and singing. Through dance/opera creative projects and collaborations, and by curating classes and workshops that integrate movement with singing, MANX cultivates environments that shatter stereotypes about dancers and opera singers, empowering artists to cultivate greater autonomy over their own bodies and voices.

For professional track singers and dancers, this class integrates dance and singing through somatics, vocal technique, and choreography.

These are $20, 30 minute “mini sessions” for dancers interested in one-on-one vocal coaching, or for opera singers who want help staging or choreographing their arias.

MANX joins the Brooklyn Motion Capture Dance Ensemble for their upcoming residency with the Peabody Conservatory, to workshop and premiere a new interdisciplinary dance/opera piece.
